Commission committee approves funding agreements for nonprofits

The county commission’s budget and finance committee, consisting of Commissioners Jim Renninger and Kristen Burke, approved sending five funding agreements for nonprofit organizations to the full commission’s consent agenda.

The agreements will send $61,200 to Challenge Enterprises, $350,000 to Clay Behavioral, $108,000 to Episcopal Children’s Services and $51,412 to Quigley House.

Volunteer Coordinator Victoria Hapner said the grants to Clay Behavioral and Quigley House are statutorily required.

She added that grants to BASCA, Kids First, the Community Band and the First Coast Highlanders will be routed through the county manager’s office because those grants do not meet the minimum $50,000 threshold required for board of county commissioners’ approval.
