County finalizes 10.9% tax increase

Clay County commissioners approved a 2022-2023 aggregate millage rate of 8.3427 mills, a 10.31% increase over the rolled-back rate of 7.5632 mills.

Commissioners also approved a nearly $703 million budget for the fiscal year, beginning on October 1.

During public hearings for the millage rate and budget, no public members spoke, and commissioners made no comments before their unanimous votes for the tax rate and budget.
