County lowers speed limits on Russell Road

County Engineer Richard Smith said public works crews installed new speed limit signs along Russell Road, also signed as County Road 209 from County Road 315 to Henley Road, over the weekend. Forty-five mph zones were lowered to 35, and 50 and 55 mph zones were reduced to 45.

County Commissioner Kristen Burke said the changes are needed because of increased traffic and the increasing frequency of crashes on the road.
