Green Cove proclaims Soul Food and Music Festival Day

City Council Member Connie Butler read the proclamation, which declared Oct. 1 as Soul Food and Music Festival Day.

Council members presented the proclamation to former Mayor Felecia Hampshire, one of the event’s founders and current organizer of the festival.

This year’s event marks the 21st anniversary of the Soul Food and Music Festival. The proclamation added that the event has celebrated past city achievements such as the 2002 dedication of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, the 2005 opening of the Vera Francis Hall Park, and the recent dedication of the Augusta Savage Historical Marker.
