HCA operations chief talks to Fleming Island Rotary

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital’s Chief Operating Officer Pete Long-Innes gave the Fleming Island Rotary Club an overview of the hospital’s activities and its plans for growth, during the club’s Thursday, Sept. 22 meeting.

Long-Innes highlighted the hospital’s two, current, stand-alone emergency departments, as well as a third stand-alone ER in Middleburg, scheduled to open soon. In the fall of 2023, a $34 million expansion at the facility’s main campus on Kingsley Avenue is scheduled for completion. That addition includes two, 24-patient room floors and a 20-bed intensive care unit.

The COO also said 151 residents and fellows across nine disciplines now train at the hospital and that three of the hospital’s surgeons have gained notoriety for their expertise. He said Dr. Alexander Farag: a rhinologist and skull base surgeon, Dr. Michael Horowitz: an endovascular neurosurgeon and Dr. Kara Wanchick, a general surgeon who performs weight loss surgery all oversee growing practices in their specialties.
